Speakers From Previous Editions

The Sociedad Española de Matemática Aplicada (SEMA) has been actively involved in the organisation of this School, each two years, since its creation. From the first edition in Santiago de Compostela (1984), the School has taken place in Benalmádena - Málaga (1986), Madrid (1988), Santiago de Compostela (1990), Benicassim (1992), Sevilla (1994), Oviedo (1996), Córdoba (1998) and Laredo (2000).

In 2002, the SEMA School incorporated the name of French Mathematician Jacques-Louis Lions to pay him homage. The Jacques-Louis Lions Spanish-French School on Numerical Simulations in Physics & Engineering has since taken place in Jaca (2002), Cádiz (2004), Castro Urdiales - Cantabria (2006), Valladolid (2008), A Coruña (2010), Málaga (2012), Pamplona (2014), Gijón (2016), Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (2018) and Madrid (2021).

In 2023, for its XX edition, the School takes place in Barcelona for the first time, hosted by the Laboratori de Càlcul Numèric (LaCàN) at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and the International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE).
